The seminar is part of modules MH21 (Statistische Datenanalyse) and MD6 (Computational Statistics) of the Heidelberg module handbooks.

Preconditions an modes of working: The working group is intended for  advanced students with a focus in statistics. A good working knowledge in probability and statistics is required. Independent work of all participants is expected. If you are preparing for an assigned task, please heed the seminar tips.

Contents:

Milestones in statistical data analysis, in particular in interactive statistical visualisation.
The American Statistical Association provides the ASA video library

"The graphics video library is an archive of great technical and historic interest
which captures much of the history of dynamic graphics for data analysis over the past 30 years."

The library is also accessible on Youtube by ASA. Presentations and analysis of these example will take the main part in this term. In addition, recent developments will be discussed, mainly from  the Journal of Computational and Graphical  Statistics and from Statistics and Computing.
